I woke up early and walked the streets of Tokyo today. One of the least evangelised nations on earth. With a high suicide rate, people working very long hours, a very proud people. I spoke to a young Japanese man on the plane the other day. He said it was very hard to accept Christianity, because he has never been “Trained” in this way. And he said Japanese people are very fearful of these things, and they push away when spoken to about this.
Recently at the “Valiant man” course, one guy shared how he really didn’t know much about real relationships until his wife really showed him how to care for people and be real with people. It got me thinking that we can race around and do, do, do so many things and never really be intimate with people.

Paul had a pretty impressive list of trials and persecutions he’d been through. He throws this line in at the end. As a crescendo, his reason for making it through all of his troubles. He has a concern for all of the churches.
I would much rather spend time with a lost person sharing the gospel, or discipling a new Christian than anything else. That’s the way I fight against the darkness.
