Some people think that the disciples were just nice and gentle and spreading the love like the hippies in the 60’s movement. Here is Peter, who spent 3 years following Jesus absolutely everywhere, filled with the Holy Spirit at Pentecost, bearing the fruit of the Holy Spirit and he says this to a new convert! Charles Wesley wrote a hymn called, “Gentle, Jesus meek and mild.” He is, but he’s also “Firey, Jesus bold and wild!”

Prayer is powerful. When we pray demons flee. When we pray, God opens heaven and pours out blessings. When we pray, God changes things and we change too! God covets our prayers.
Wouldn’t you want to be like the people Paul is writing about here. Whenever someone prays for you they say, “Oh thank you God!” And where you are bearing so much fruit in your ministry that word is getting around that that the Love and faith you have for Jesus is brimming over to other believers.
