Ps Matt brought a message called, “Isaac, let’s go for a walk.” Imagine what was going through Abraham’s mind as he walked with his son, on the way to offering him as a sacrifice. He kept going, because he honoured God, and had a heart of obedience. What an amazing example of trusting in God, regardless of the outcome. We need to learn from his example and be willing to offer ourselves as a living sacrifice every day.
J.C. Ryle said, “There is a common, worldly kind of Christianity in this day, which many have, and think they have enough-a cheap Christianity which offends nobody, and requires no sacrifice which costs nothing, and is worth nothing.” What a great challenge! Jesus said in Luke 14:33, “those of you who do not give up everything you have cannot be my disciples.”
