Speak and act as those who are going to be judged by the law that gives freedom, because judgment without mercy will be shown to anyone who has not been merciful. Mercy triumphs over judgment.  James 2:12

A mate of mine poured out his heart about a broken relationship as well as asking a couple of tough questions about Christianity. Since I’ve known him I’ve seen him come from having real darkness in his eyes to a light now coming on.

There is another guy who is difficult to relate to. He could and has offended many people in our church, and I’ll be on his case about his behaviour. But he still hasn’t given his heart to the Lord, and we need to love him like Jesus.

I always want to be able to relate to people regardless of who they are.  I love the smokeometer at another mate’s church. If there aren’t many people out having a smoke, he knows he’s reaching the wrong kind of people. We are called to the sick, the poor and those who are difficult to relate to. We need to ask for God’s heart to love them like he does.

Lord help me speak and act with mercy. Help me not to show favouritism to my favourite people at church. Help me to invest in the ones you want me to. Give me your heart today. Amen.
